I love being a photographer. Newborn Photography holds a special place in my heart. Its the beginning of a new life and a new chapter for a family. Those beginning moments are so special. There is a lot that goes into those cute images you see on my social media and website. Newborn Sessions are the hardest sessions I photograph, but the reward of those final images are worth it. Newborn Photography takes a lot and I mean alot of patience. I am often asked or see posts on social media asking why it costs so much. I wanted to explain why, at least from my perspective and in my business.
- Education: Baby safety is my number one priority. I have, and continue to take education classes to ensure your baby is safe with every pose.
- Props: I invest in props that I know are safe for your baby. Those are not cheap. I also purchase backdrops. wraps, outfits, headbands, layers, along with many other things to use for your session. I have a huge newborn client closet so all you have to do is show up and enjoy watching your baby being photographed.
- My time: I begin planning your session the minute you pay your deposit. I photograph your session, which can take 2-3 hours. Next is to edit your images, send you a proofing gallery, then send your images to you.
- Some of the monthly expenses are Websites, Rent, Utlities, Insurance, Equipment to name a few.
To break down the costs for just the one adorable image next to this writing alone:
Outfit:$79.00, Prop:$160.00, Greenery:$15, Backdrop:$175.00 plus my talent and years of experience, and the other fees listed above.
I understand I am not in everyone's budget and that is okay. While I wish I could be affordable to everyone, my prices reflect what is needed for me to stay in business. If you choose to book with someone else, please make sure they know how to pose your baby safely. If you have any questions please feel free to email me from the contact me tab.
